Getting There

Montana is the fourth largest state in the nation. But it is in top 10 of the least populous states in the United States.

When it comes to transportation, Montana is no different from other states in both Rocky Mountains and Great Plains regions.

If you have not guessed yet, it is very difficult to reach the state’s sights.

Billings is the only international airport in the state. And it is not a major hub.

That leaves Seattle, WA and Salt Lake City, UT as the state’s two air gateways. Both are at least 4 hours away from the MT state lines.

Places to Visit

Montana has two of the most popular national parks, Yellowstone and Glacier. While the former is only partially in the state, Glacier is a Montana only park.

There is also one national monument and several national historic parks, sites, and trails. If this is not enough, you can visit 55 state parks.

Montana is home to one of the most scenic drives in the country. The Beartooth Highway connects Yellowstone with Red Lodge, MT. The road proceeds through the picturesque Beartooth Pass.
